OUR PROMISE TO YOU |
| JJ Associates will only forward your details to clients if: |
We have met and have obtained a full understanding of your background and future aspirations. |
We have discussed the position with you fully and you have given your consent. |
We believe the position is right for you given both your own aspirations and the client's criteria for the post (both practically and culturally) |
CV POINTERS |
Remember the CV is to get you an interview NOT the job itself, so it should interest a potential employer in meeting you and not give them your life history. |
The employer may have a lot of CVs to read, so make the information easily accessible (clearly legible typeface, well spaced print, bullet points rather than endless paragraphs). |
Start with the most recent job (it is normally the most relevant) and work backwards. |
Include significant achievements and not just duties and responsibilities (what you are especially proud of and not just your job description). |
Not all employers are interested in your outside activities, and those that could be contentious or counter productive are best avoided (political affiliations, fox hunting, regular theatre goer, or too low a golf handicap). However, if they demonstrate additional personal qualities they should be included. |
The accompanying letter of application should briefly summarise your suitability for the role and explain why they should interview you. |
AT INTERVIEW |
Do as much research as possible on the job and the organisation. |
Turn up in plenty of time, dressed appropriately, alert and NOT hungover. |
Listen to the questions and communicate your answers with honesty, enthusiasm and not too much waffle. |
If you do not think that the interviewer has fully uncovered your suitability for the role it is up to you to do so. |
Ask lots of relevant and pertinent questions |
At the close, get a clear understanding of what will happen and when. | |
